Four Day long webinar series on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Inaugurated at UCOST

 Uttarakhand State Science and Technology Council (UCOST) organized  a four day webinar series entitled “Intellectual Property Rights : Fundamental and its importance in present context” in joint collaboration with Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Government of India and National Academy of Sciences India (NASI) Uttarakhand Chapter. In the inaugural session, Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dr Yashwant Dev Panwar, Scientist-‘F’ & Director, PFC, TIFAC and Shri Raghav Saha, Senior Advisor, CII delivered lectures on various aspects of IPR issues under current Covid-19 scenario.
Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST narrated about the programs being carried out by the IP Management & Patent Information Center of UCOST in the state. He also highlighted the priority areas of the state for Science Technology and Innovation Policy-2020.In his address, Dr Yashwant  gave detailed information on the innovation and technology transfer in India and its technical aspect under current period of covid-19.
The distinguished guest Mr R. Saha gave his address on the topic “Relevant economic, technical and educational importance of IPR”. He discussed the ecosystem of intellectual property rights in India, its impact on domestic and global scale. Highlighting the importance of intellectual property, he said that one percent increase in IP increases the country’s GDP by 3 to 5 percent. Therefore, intellectual property bears special significance for “Atamnirbahar Bharat”.
The program was conducted and coordinated by Dr D.P Uniyal, Joint Director UCOST.  He urged registered participants to timely join the webinar in following days.
