Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology

The multifaceted mission of the programme is high technology driven entrepreneurship development and act as a window for the region to scan and gain access to new technologies. Technology Management With the emergence of WTO and its conditionalities, industries have to modernize its technology, adopt marketing concepts and management practices to improve the quality of its products to remain efficient and competitive. The Council will promote activities on such awareness issues through entrepreneurship development training programmes.

Intellectual Prop. Rights Management
This programme will create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). It will enable patent searches to Universities, Industries, Government Departments and Research & Development (R&D) Institutions , analyze the patent information on a regular basis and accept suggestions for new programmes for R&D Institutions and guidance for the inventors in respect of patenting inventions.

Venture and Technology Incubation Promortion Programme
Council aims to give impetus to emerging areas like nanotechnology, genetic engineering and high tech aquaculture, sericulture and will assist new venture by gaining funds through financial institutions and intermediary agencies.

Transfer of Technology
The council will facilitate cooperation amongst national R&D institutions and have laid policy framework to encourage small enterprise to take up technology upgradation and aid transfer of technology.

Commercilaization of Technology
The council in its continuing endeavor to help state grow into economically viable zone will help commercialize the deliverables like tangible goods and technology and services offered by various organization in Uttarakhand.

Creation of Technology Resource Centres & RUTAG
The scheme will herald development of improved technologies based on locally available natural resources and improvement of post harvesting techniques and commercial requirements. The scheme is initiated in all the thirteen districts and will be subsequently extended to block level. These centers will blend modern sciences with traditional experience and knowledge. The Council also liasies with Rural Technology Action Group (RUTAG) to overview such issues.
