Vigyan Prasar Kendra

The Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun, ever since its inception in 2005, has been engaged in science and technology communication/popularization and inculcation of scientific temper among the people of the state.  In the remotest areas, Council has established Vigyan Prasar Kendra (VPK's). Through the VPK's all the activities of science popularization are run by the Council in the Garhwal and Kumaun regions. The main motive behind establishing VPK's in all the blocks is to train resource persons among the masses so that they can further provide training to the local people of that particular block in more effective manner.
