Ministry of Science and Technology, Dept. of Science and Technology (DST), GoI, New Delhi in Collaboration with Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun celebrated Vigyan Utsav as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav “STI Institutions in the States” through virtual mode on 9th Sept, 2021. This day is also celebrated as Himalaya Day. The program was started with a video of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 75th Year of Independence. Dr Rajendra dobhal, FNASc, Director General, UCOST, welcome all the Keynote Speaker and all the participants who had joined online. Dr Dobhal said our state have 75 different S&T Institution which are working continuously after independence in different sectors. Honorable Cabinet Minister, Information and Science Technology, Govt. of Uttarakhand congratulates the team UCOST under the guidance of Dr Rajendra Dobhal for the council’s growth so far. Dr Ashutosh Mishra, Sr. Scientific Officer presented the council overview and the progress so far with the help of small videos. Later the keynote speakers Prof S.K. Kashyup, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar; Dr Prakash Chauhan, Director, IIRS, Dehradun; Dr Anjan Ray, Director, CSIR-IIP, Dehradun; Dr Kalachand Sen, Director, WIHG, Dehradun; Dr Lakshmi Kant, Director, ICAR-VPKAS, Almora; and Prof Vandana Dhingra, AIIMS, Rishikesh presented their institution’s growth and work profile. Dr D.P. Uniual, Joint Director, UCOST Coordinated the program and gave a vote of thanks to the all the participants. More than 100 participants along Dr Renu Swaroop, Secretary, DBT, GoI, New Delhi; Dr Debpriya Dutta, Advisor, DST, GoI, New Delhi; Dr Rashmi Sharma, Scientist E, SEED Division, DST, GoI, New Delhi; Dr Ravi Kant Prajapati, Scientist B, DST, GoI, New Delhi, Different state councils in India with UCOST & RSC staff joined the program through zoom meeting & Youtube live.
