National Science Day by UCOST
The Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) celebrated the National Science Day on Saturday. besides UCOST, National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Dehradun and National Council Science Museum (NCSM), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi collaborated in this event.
Former vice chancellor of HNB Garhwal University Prof. AN Purohit asked that human resources of country should be skilled in a way so that they can contribute to the Make in India programme.
He professed that the scientific temperament should be inculcated every man of the society. The scientific approach is must for the youth of the country and much more needed then a technological approach as science is the source for the development of a technology.
He advocated Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, DG UCOST to invite speaker of Vidhan sabha along with his MLA’s of the state to the Regional Science Centre so that our governing managers also have a scientific aptitude.
Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, DG UCOST elaborated on the theme of this year’s national science day i.e “Make in India: S&T based innovation”. Make in India should be innovation centric.
For maintaining the momentum of Research & Development in the country, it is necessary or one to be innovative. If make in India programme has to be proceed and India has to leave a mark globally than first the knowledge and technical skills of the human resource may be developed.
