Council organized Vigyan Utsav on a theme “Innovation and Start-ups” as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 24th Jan, 2022 in collaboration with DST, GoI, New Delhi through online mode. Dr. D.P.Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST delivered a welcome address and also coordinated the session. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General UCOST, Dehradun told that right mentorship and right platform is required to develop an innovation ecosystem for the skilled entrepreneur. Dr Kailash N. Bhardwaj, Scientific Officer, UCOST, Dehradun presented their talk on “Innovation and start-ups Ecosystem: Uttarakhand”. He shed light on the council initiatives in this sector & briefed about 11 different incubators working for facilitation of innovators and startups in the state. The panel experts, Mr Rajendra Kumar, Nodal Officer, Startup Uttarakhand, GoUK; Dr Rajendra P. Joshi, Founder CEO, RI Instruments & Innovation India; Prof Sanjay Jasola, Technology Business Incubator (TBI), Graphic Era University, Dehradun; Mr Maneesh Maithani, STPI, Dehradun shared their experience and suggestion for promoting innovation and startups in our state as well as in country. Dr R.P. Joshi said that we have to add some striking features in the existing products to compete in the market and think global.  The young entrepreneurs  Dr Siddharth Arora, Founder & CEO, Fermentech Labs Pvt. Ltd; Dr Anuja Duklan, Director, Suraitech Innovation LLP Kotdwar; Akash Soni, Co-Founder & CEO, Indi energy, TIDES Business Incubator, IIT Roorkee showcased their products & business plans through the power point presentation to the participants. Dr Aparna Sharma, Senior Scientific Officer, UCOST gave a vote of thanks to all the speakers and participants. Dr Debapriya Dutta, Advisor, DST, GoI, New Delhi; Dr Rashmi Sharma, Scientist E, DST, GoI;  Dr Ravikant Prajapati, Scientist, DST, GoI;  and other Scientists, Faculty members, Researchers, Young Entrepreneurs, Students, UCOST staff etc. were present during the program.
