Regional Science Center (RSC) Dehradun celebrated its 5th Foundation Day at Vigyan Dham, Jhajra
The fifth foundation day of Regional Science Center celebrated at Vigyan Dham premises of UCOST. The chief guest of the program was Rear Admiral O.P.S Rana, AVSM, VSM (Retd), former Director General, Naval Armament Inspection and former General Manager BrahMos Aero-speace and special guest was Brigadier Shailesh Sati, Commander of ACC Wing. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General UCOST welcome the guests . In his welcome speech, Dr Dobhal shed light on Indian scientific institutions and their contributions in development of the country. He said that S&T and Innovation is the backbone of development and India is front runner in this field. Sri G.S. Rautela, former DG NCSM and presently Advisor Science City Dehradun showed demonstrations of experiments on “Matter at Low Temperature”. He demonstrated some beautiful experiments with liquid nitrogen, which were enjoyed by the gentlemen cadets.Later in his speech, Rear Admiral Rana spoke on process of development of armaments and S&T aspect of them to the participants. Brigadier Sati in his address expressed gratitude to the Director General Dr Dobhal for facilitation of his cadets at the center. He also showed his willingness of sending some cadets at Innovation Hub for nurturing their innovative ideas. In the end, Dr Dobhal presented memento as token of respect to Rear Admiral Rana and Brigadier Sati. The group of ACC cadets visited galleries and enjoyed 3D science film at the center. A total of 125 cadets of ACC Wing of Indian Militry Academy (IMA), their teachers and officers participated in the program. Dr D.P. Uniyal, Joint Director UCOST, Dr B.P. Purohit, Dr Ashutosh Mishra, Sri Amit Pokhriyal and Dr Aparna Sharma and UCOST staff were present on the occasion.
