Celebration of National Technology Day 2022 at UCOST, Vigyan Dham on 11th May, 2022
On the occasion of National Technology Day 2022, Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) organised a popular lecture under the theme ‘Integrated Approach in Science & Technology for Sustainable Future’ on 11 May 2022 at UCOST,Vigyan Dham, Jhajra, Dehradun. The program was jointly organised by UCOST, Department of Science & Technology (GoI), New Delhi under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the National Academy of Sciences (NASI), Uttarakhand Chapter. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr Vijay Dhasmana, Vice-Chancellor, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The welcome address was delivered by Dr D. P. Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST, he talked about the importance of National Technology Day and the collateral effect of science on society. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, in his address talked about the importance of science and technologies and how an integrated approach can uplift the economy and make a sustainable future for India. He aware the students about the historical perspective of science and technology in India, the history of the formation of additional research and development organisations, and their importance in the sustainable development of the country. He also talked about new innovations in agriculture, health sector, biotechnology and information technology etc. Shri G. S. Rautela, Advisor Science City, Dehradun discussed briefly different future technologies specifically innovations in the Nanotechnology sector including nanobots, nanopaints, molecular computers etc. Dr Vijay Dhasmana delivered an informative lecture on the integrated approach in science and technology, it’s advancement and benefits to society. He also talked about ancient scientific knowledge of Indian culture and its importance in day to day life. The program was attended by teachers, research scholars, students, scientists and staff of Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST), Regional Science Center and Uttarakhand Biotech Council.
