IPR Awareness Workshop at S.B.S Govt. P.G College, Rudrapur, U.S Nagar on 27 March 2017.
One-day IPR awareness workshop was organized at S.B.S Govt. P.G College, Rudrapur, U.S Nagar on 27th March 2017. The workshop entitled “Protection of R&D outcomes through Intellectual Property Rights” was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Kanika Mailk, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-NISCAIR, New Delhi and Dr. Jagdish Prasad, Principal, S.B.S Govt. P.G College, Rudrapur, U.S Nagar. The workshop witnessed the presence of Dr. Anju Rawat, Scientist-B,PIC COST, Dehradun, Mr. Himanshu Goel and Ms. Akanksha Chandola as speakers in various IPR topics. The workshop benefited around 200 participants including faculty and students.
Dr. Shalabh Gupta, Organizing Secretary, welcomed the Chief Guest, & other dignitaries and the participants. The inaugural Speech was delivered by Dr. KanikaMailk, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-NISCAIR, New Delhi.Dr. KanikaMailk, Sr. Scientist, CSIR-NISCAIR, New Delhistressed on the need for registering intellectual creations and using IPR’s for the betterment of nation. She explained the importance of IPR protection and how inventions & intellectual creations could help to boost economic and technological developments in the country. She strongly presented his view on the current scenario of IPR and the status of India in terms of innovation and filing of IPR. She urged and motivated students to be innovative and vigilant.
Dr. AnjuRawat, Scientist-B, PIC, UCOST gave an overview of IPR to the participants and explained what are patents, industrial designs, trademarks, trade secrets, geographical indications and plant varieties.Ms. Akanksha ChandolaAnthwal briefed the audience about copyright system in India and Mr. Himanshu Goyal, Project scientist, enlighted the audience about the patent filing procedure and various timelines in patent filing and prosecution.In the thanksgiving speech, Dr. A.K Paliwal, Convener explained the triad of creativity, inventiveness and innovation and their linkages with the enhancement of quality of life of the people in general and owners of traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions of the people of Uttarakhand State.. Mr. Pankaj Kumar, IPR Trainee & Facilitator, Dr. Vandana Aggarwal and many other delegates were also present at the workshop.
