Uttarakhad State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) & Valley of Words (VoW) Jointly Organized a one day Seminar on “History of Science in India ” on 19th Nov, 2021 at Regional Science Centre (RSC), Vigyan Dham, Jahjra, Dehradun. In the the Inaugural session Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dehradun delivered a welcome address of the program. Dr Sanjeev Chopra, Historian, Policy Analyst & Festival Director of VoW delivered the address on Valley of Words. The Keynote lecture was given by Dr C M Nautiyal, Consultant, INSA, New Delhi. Sh. G S Rautela, Advisor Science City, Dehradun delivered a vote thanks to all the guest & participants present in the inaugural session. In the first technical session which was coordinated by Dr CM Nautiyal, Consultant INSA, New Delhi the first lecture was delivered by  Prof Mayank Vahia, Dean & Former Prof TIFR,Mumbai  on “Astronomy in Ancient India” and Prof Deepak Kumar, Former Prof Sc & History  JNU, New Delhi delivered a lecture on “History of Medicine”. In the Second technical session Sh Dinesh C Sharma, Jawaharlal Nehru Fellow, New Delhi delivered his talk on “History of Information Technology” and Dr Alok Kumar Kanungo, Asst. Prof IIT, Gandhinagar Gave his lecture on “History of S&T of Indian Glass”.   More than 250 Students from DBIT, Beehive Institute, JBIT, Alpine Institute, ICFAI University, GRD Girls Degree College and Uttaranchal University  Dehradun attended the seminar.
