Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on a theme “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” Organized through online mode on 10th August 2022

Council organized Vigyan Utsav on a theme “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 10th August 2022 in collaboration with DST, GoI, New Delhi through online mode. Dr Aparna Sharma, Senior Scientific Officer, UCOST coordinated the session.
Dr D.P. Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST, Dehradun gave welcome address, he told that the council has been organizing this program regularly since last year on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Further, he also gave an overview of initiatives taken by the council for spreading IPR awareness across the state. Prof(Dr) Durgesh Pant, Director General, UCOST in his special address emphasized on IP-driven innovation economy to incentivize and protect creativity & diversity of our state. He said that economies are driven by 3M’s i.e. Muscle, money and mind. He further talk about bio-economy and knowledge economy.
Shri Himanshu Goel, Scientist-B, Patent Information Center (PIC) delivered a lecture on “Role of Council in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the State of Uttarakhand” and informed that 128 patents, 24 Trademarks, 21 designs and 17 IPR cell were created under PIC since its inception. In the technical session Dr Atul Ranjan, Nominee Officer, CSIR-IIP, Dehradun in his lecture talked about Technology Transfer & Commercialization in CSIR IIP, while Dr Anuj Raturi talked about IPR, Innovation and Startup in Graphic Era University. Dr Rommila Chandra, Scientific Officer, UCOST gave a vote of thanks to all the speakers and participants. Dr Rashmi Sharma, Scientist E, DST, GoI; Dr Ravikant Prajapati, Scientist, DST, GoI; C-DAC, Council’s representatives and other Scientists, Faculty members, Researchers, Students, UCOST & RSC staff etc. were present during the program.
