Hands on Training Programme on Apiculture and Food Processing Technology

Apiculture and Food Processing Technology – Two days for Apiculture and Food Processing Technology training programme was organized at UCOST on dated 19th and 20th February 2021. Participants from all four clusters Bazira (Rudraprayag), Bhigun (Tehri), Kausani (Bageshwar) and Gaindikhata (Haridwar) were present during the training. The programme was inaugurated in the gracious presence of Dr D P Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST, Dr B P Purohit, Dr Prashant Singh, District Coordinator, UCOST, Dr Piyush Joshi, Senior Scientific Officer and subject experts from Shikhar Food Products, Mothrowala, Dehradun, Society for Economic & Social Studies, Sahaspur, Dehradun &Krishivan Research Centre for Agripreneurship Development & Environment Protection Samiti, Dehradun. During the training, participants knew about the making process of Jam-Mix Fruit Jam, Juices- Orange/Malta,Bunransh, Squashes, Pickle- Mix, Mango, Lemon, Garlic, Ginger etc. They also knew about the preservation technology of these food products, Packaging methods, Marketing strategies etc. In Apiculture training programme participants were trained how to cultivate honey bees, Bee boxes management, honey extraction techniques etc. Project staff Mr. Santosh Rawat, Mr. Devendra Singh, Mr. Paras Upadhyay along with UCOST staff were present on the occasion. The training was ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants.
