4th Day of a week-long festival of Science and Technology “Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate” UNDER THEME Science & Technology, Innovation and Atmnirbhar Bharat  

25 February 2022, the fourth day of the week-long festival of Science and Technology, Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate was celebrated under the theme “Science, Technology and Innovation for Self Reliance/Atmanirbar Bharat” at the Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST), Dehradun. Dr D.P. Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST started the session with his welcome address. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, in his address stressed the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and told the students about the fundamentals of the innovation ecosystem and intellectual properties. He tells students about the basic difference between discovery, invention and innovation. He also emphasized students develop adequate skills in their respective fields. The speakers for today’s session were Dr Rajendra P. Joshi, CEO, Instruments and Innovation India, Haldwani, Shri H. P.  Singh, Director Ambe Phytoextracts Pvt Ltd, Noida. Dr Rajendra Joshi delivered a lecture on “Cost-effective upper-end research instrumentation and materials in India”. In his lecture, he gave an introduction about his company and the products they manufacture. He also told the achievements of his company and shared his valuable experiences. In collaboration with UCOST, RI Instruments and Innovation India launches the Women scholarship programme for women in the field of science and technology. Shri Singh shared glimpses of his inspirational success story. In his speech, he talked about the ups and downs of his journey. He motivated students to generate employment for themselves and for society also. The session was followed by a screening of science-based movies. The science-based fun activity and quiz competition were also conducted for the students of Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology, Tula Institute and Dolphin Institute. The science-based fun activity was conducted by Regional Science Center staff and the quiz competition was also organised in which  Dolphin Institute won the first prize. In this Program Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dr D. P. Uniyal, Joint Director UCOST, Dr B. P. Purohit, Dr Ashutosh Mishra, Er. Jitendra, Shri Amit Pokhriya, Dr Aparna Sharma, UCOST,  UCOST Staff, Staff of Biotech Council and students from various colleges were present. A vote of thanks was given by Dr Ashutosh Mishra, Senior Scientific Officer, UCOST. The session was coordinated by Ms Kanchan Dobhal, UCOST. More than 250 officials, scientists, faculty members, researchers, students, UCOST, RSC & UCB staff participated in the programme through hybrid mode.
